Hillcrest Care Home is a purpose-built 50-bed home located in the historic town of Alnwick, Northumberland. Set within beautifully landscaped gardens, the home is close to local shops, public transport links and the A1(M). Hillcrest is proudly rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and provides Nursing Care, Residential Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care in a welcoming, homely environment.
Originally built in the 1800s as a Georgian family home and later used as a maternity hospital, Hillcrest combines historic charm with modern facilities, including a 1990s extension. The home offers 50 bedrooms, 38 of which have en-suite bathrooms, fitted furniture, mechanised beds and interactive alarm systems, with assisted bath and shower rooms to support residents’ comfort and independence.
Designed with dementia care in mind, Hillcrest features spacious lounges and dining areas, quiet rooms and breakout spaces, clear orientation signage, handrails, internet access throughout and lift facilities. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms and enjoy social activities in a friendly, supportive environment.
