About Us
Appleton lodge Nursing home is part of Eleanor Healthcare Group, an independent UK healthcare provider established in 1979. Eleanor delivers a wide range of health and social care services, including nursing and residential care homes, home care, live-in care, supported living, day centres, extra care, hospital logistics, Prison social Care and patient transport services.
Located in Aylesford, Kent, within the RBLI Village, Appleton Lodge Nursing Home provides nursing care and specialist support in a safe, welcoming and purpose-built environment. The home is part of a unique community setting shaped around care, service and support, offering residents comfort, dignity and a strong sense of belonging.
Appleton Lodge was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2019 during RBLI’s Centenary year. This remains a meaningful part of the home’s story and reflects the significance of the home within the wider RBLI Village community.
The home supports people who may need nursing care, respite care, end-of-life care, palliative care or support with complex health needs. Appleton Lodge also provides care for residents living with conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease, COPD, stroke, head or brain injuries, cancer care and other complex conditions.
Care at Appleton Lodge is shaped around each resident as an individual. Personalised care plans consider each person’s health needs, comfort, routines, preferences, abilities and personal history. These plans are reviewed regularly so that support can adapt as needs change and continue to promote dignity, safety and wellbeing.
With 15 spacious rooms, each equipped with modern en-suite facilities, Appleton Lodge offers a comfortable and personal environment where residents can feel settled and supported. The smaller size of the home helps create a close, homely atmosphere where residents can receive attentive care and build familiar relationships with the team.
The care team supports residents with personal care, nursing needs, mobility, medication, comfort, emotional wellbeing, companionship and daily routines. For people requiring palliative or end-of-life care, the focus is on comfort, dignity, respect and sensitive support for both residents and their families.
Appleton Lodge is designed to provide a safe and reassuring place to live, while also helping residents maintain independence where possible. The team works closely with residents and families to understand what matters most to each person, so that care feels personal, respectful and responsive.
Families and friends are welcomed as an important part of life at Appleton Lodge. The team encourages regular contact, visits and communication so relatives feel involved, informed and reassured throughout their loved one’s care journey.
Appleton Lodge has received strong feedback from families, with reviews highlighting the warmth of the team, the smooth admission process, friendly and professional staff, the homely environment, activities, food and the dignity shown to residents. The home also has a strong carehome.co.uk review score, reflecting positive family experiences.
