About Us

Kings Court care home provides specialist residential and respite care for older people. The team takes pride in delivering flexible, personalised and innovative care.

There's a bedroom to suit every taste at Kings Court, and each is warm, bright and comfortable. The lifestyle team organises activities, outings and events tailored to residents' needs and interests, and the home is also active in the close-knit community of Barnard Castle, taking part in local craft fairs as well as groups like the WI.

The historic building used to be the King’s Head hotel. Charles Dickens once stayed here and even mentioned it in ‘Nicholas Nickleby’. The hotel ballroom is now the residents’ lounge, and many bedrooms are generously sized too.

Kings Court is proud to be accredited with the Gold Standards Framework Care Homes Programme. This demonstrates the team's skill and commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents at the end of their life.
