About Us
Ghulab Extra Care Scheme
Ghulab is an Extra Care Housing Scheme designed for older adults aged 55 and over. The scheme comprises 36 self-contained flats and 4 bungalows, providing residents with the privacy and independence of their own home while having access to care and support when required.
Each accommodation unit is fully self-contained and includes a private entrance, bedroom, lounge, kitchen, and bathroom or wet room. The scheme is arranged over three floors—ground, first, and second floor. The upper floors are fully accessible via stairs and a passenger lift, with an additional stairlift located at the far end of the building.
Care and support staff are available on-site 24 hours a day. During the night, staff provide a sleep-in service and are available to respond to emergencies as required.
At Ghulab, we deliver person-centred care that is tailored to each individual’s needs and preferences. Care and support plans are developed collaboratively with residents, their families, and relevant health and social care professionals. Our staff team is highly trained and participates in continuous professional development to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
We are committed to promoting independence, dignity, choice, and respect. Support can be provided across a wide range of areas, including:
Personal care
Medication management
Nutrition, diet, and hydration support
Laundry and domestic tasks, where required
Shopping support, where identified within the individual's care and support plan
In addition to their private accommodation, residents can enjoy a range of communal facilities, including a comfortable lounge and dining area. Freshly prepared meals are available from the on-site kitchen, with menus and pricing information provided to all residents.
Ghulab also promotes health, wellbeing, and social inclusion through a variety of activities. A community-funded dance and exercise programme takes place every Wednesday, encouraging residents to remain active and engaged.
As a diverse and inclusive community, we celebrate and embrace a wide range of cultural and religious festivals throughout the year, including Ramadan, Eid, Easter, Christmas, Gurpurab, Vaisakhi, and Diwali.
