Overview
Stone House is a home in the area of Bishops Castle, which can accommodate 40 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC. Care can be provided for those with dementia. Stone House also offers the following short stay services; respite care.
Accommodation
The warm and friendly facilities, including a unit especially designed for those being supported with dementia, enables our residents to live as comfortable a life as possible and our busy activities schedule enables participants to feel part of life within the home and its wider community.
Everyone living and working at Stone House can genuinely feel they are among friends. Residents can decide where and how they spend their time either quietly in their room, taking part in the variety of activities, or walking through the central garden area at the heart of the home.
Our friendly communal areas ensure everyone is supported individually with scope for new friendships with other residents.
Activities
Our specially trained and enthusiastic activities staff are excellent at helping our residents enjoy their life with us at Stone House where our staff work with residents to create a week by week schedule of activities to include a mix of physical, social, creative, recreational, sensory, relaxation and reminiscence.
In addition to the rich and varied activity programme at Stone House, staff also arrange outings to local areas of interest, organise events throughout the year and provide wonderful entertainment.
We encourage residents to get involved in day-to-day life in the home from housekeeping and baking to growing vegetables and keeping busy in the garden.
At Stone House we take our culinary skills very seriously indeed. As well as serving lunch, we make sure our residents have easy access to snacks and drinks throughout the day and night. Proper nutrition and hydration are essential to health and wellbeing.
We cater to all dietary requirements including supplements and following assessment guidance by the Speech and Language Team (SaLT). Stone House meals are freshly prepared on site by a qualified chef using locally sourced produce and we cater for all requirements including vegan, vegetarian, dairy or gluten-free diets.
