About Us

Westfield Care home is a 17 Bedded residential home situated in the south shore area of
Blackpool.
As a home registered to provide residential care to service users over the age of Fifty-five.
We can cater for the needs of a wide range of service users, both sexes and person whom
identifies, from those who need just a little assistance with their personal care to those who
require a lot more assistance.
We can provide care to individuals over 55 with a range of needs including Dementia,
Enduring Mental Health, Learning Disability, Physical Disability and Frailty. All staff are
Certificated or working toward a minimum of QCF level 3 in Health and social Care with the
majority of these held being via the Dementia pathway.
Staff will also be trained and certificated in Mental Health, Behaviour which Challenge,
Personality Disorders, OCD, Learning Disability, along with all mandatory training required.
The majority of these will be performed online, or in house the by the Registered Manager
who has undertaken train the trainer in different areas, except Mental Capacity first aid and
Food hygiene which will be provided by accredited training providers.
Any further training requirements which are above the competencies of the Registered
Manager will be identified and contracted to certified trainers.
Staff at Westfield Care home are employed on their ability to understand and advocate the
needs of our inclusive service.
MANAGEMENT
Skanda Rajaratnam: Director, has 20 years’ experience in the business management of care
homes, with a proven track record of turning failing Care Homes into business successes. He
has gained his NVQ5 qualification in Care Management.
Susan Houghton: Registered Manager has over 25 years progressive health and social care
and specialises in Dementia. Susan is highly experienced in working with individuals with
who display both physical and mental health needs. She currently holds a NVQ level 5 in
Care, Level 3 Registered Managers award and is working towards level 6 in safeguarding.
We also have a 2 Deputy Manager’s and 3 full time senior carers who hold the required
qualifications to ensure a safe environment for our service users.
