About Us

St Philip & St James Retirement Home is a family- owned and run care home in the Keynsham area between Bath and Bristol. SS Philip and James accommodates 31 residents in single ensuite bedrooms. At our most recent inspection it achieved a 'Good' rating from the CQC with Outstanding in Care. SS Philip & James Retirement Home also offers short stay services including respite care. We are proud of our excellent team of staff who include Marie Craig our day to day Manager who worked in the NHS for many years as an Occupational Therapist and holds the Registered Managers Award and Mrs Moira Peoples a qualified nurse with many years of experience in the NHS and General Practice and Mrs Lorraine Haskins who holds an NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care. Many of our care staff have achieved level 2 and 3 in Health and social care and the Care Certificate.

The home was originally 3 Victorian Villas retaining many original features. It is located near to shops and the high street with pleasant walks, cafes and a lovely local park all within an easy walk. Close by there are a GP surgery, Railway station and bus services.
Facilities in the home include bright and sunny conservatories and pleasant garden and decking areas.
All rooms have ensuite toilet and wash hand basins and some have ensuite showers. There are bathrooms on all floors with accessible baths or showers. All rooms have call bells and TV and telephone points.
