The Birches, situated in Burntwood, near to Chasewater Country Park, is a dormer bungalow with seven wheelchair compatible single en suite rooms. The home offers 24-hour care and rehabilitation to adults with acquired brain injuries in the heart of a quiet residential area close to a wealth of local amenities and the centre of Burntwood. It is easily reached from the A5 or M6. The nearest railway station is Lichfield City which is three miles away. The Birches offers specialist care and rehabilitation in a peaceful, comfortable homely environment in the heart of a flourishing community.
prOKare have provided a specialist residential service to adults with acquired brain injury in small residential homes since 1998. Over this time the organisation has built a wealth of knowledge and experience in this field. Clients benefit from the close-work of specially prepared staff, a fully coordinated comprehensive programme of care and rehabilitation focused on maximising potential and developing life careers with multidisciplinary support, and the benefit of living in small homes.
Homes offer long, short term and respite care (the latter subject to availability), and negotiated flexible periods to suit those who require part-time support.
The prOKare team are unique in that they are prepared specifically to work with adults with acquired brain injuries. They receive specialist education which is maintained throughout their career, in order to provide a high quality service to clients.

Other services may be procured during the initial thirteen-week assessment at the purchaser’s request. These services are provided on a needs-led basis and are accessible to all clients. Clients will also be made aware of local advocacy services. Clients/Purchasers also receive a comprehensive report following thirteen and six monthly reviews.
