About Us

Oaklands is a residential home in the area of Clacton-on-Sea, which can accommodate 5 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC. Care can be provided for those with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. It supports individuals to live a fulfilled and happy life, promoting independence and well being.
Our mission is to deliver and provide high quality to support to those in our services, with on overarching goal that service users feel happy, fulfilled, and are supported to flourish in the own lives. We are guided by the principles of Positive Behaviour Support, teaching those we support skills to promote their independence, reduce behaviours that may challenge. We work closely within multi-disciplinary teams including Consultant Psychiatrists, Behavioural Advisors, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Community and Enhanced Support and Social workers among others to allow for collaborative working to achieve the bets outcomes for those we support. The families of those we support are actively involved in those that we support, consulted, and communicated with regularly, to ensure a positive family life for all of those involved.
At ASN we feel strongly about the rights and well-being of all of those that we support, and advocate that everyone deserves to have a happy and fulfilling life, that nothing should be a barrier to peoples wishes and hopes. We believe that all service users, no matter their learning level or complex needs, can learn important and functional skills to enable them to lead more fulfilling lives, weather it be using communication aids, cooking their favourite meal, or visiting family independently on a bus- there is no barrier to great to be able to achieve what you want!
We have worked closely with professional at supporting in the community from long-stay hospital settings, their first move from the family home, or before moving into more independent settings when the required skills have been mastered.
