About Us

Carleton House is a specialist residential home supporting people with longterm mental health problems. We are situated in the Fulwood area of Preston. We accommodate 12 people and have a 'Good' rating from the CQC. Carleton House offers short stay services, respite care, intermediate care and rehabilitation.

We are a small, well established, family run, specialist mental health care home set in a quiet and peaceful conservation area. Our service focusses exclusively on the support of people with mental illness and our expertise has been developed through over 30 years of successful service delivery. The home has extensive gardens and communal spaces which are used for therapeutic purposes. We are in a tranquil setting yet within easy of Preston center. All amenities and public transport are within easy reach. We have an excellent reputation and working relationship with a wide range of allied health professionals and have also developed close links with the local community. We have excellent demonstrable outcomes in terms of: helping people gain and maintain stability, supporting people to become more independent in getting back to doing the things they enjoy doing in the community, supported reduction in medication without deterioration and very few hospitalisations due to deteriorating mental health amongst others.
