About Us
Paddocks is a residential care home/bungalow that can accommodate and provide care for up to seven individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities and/or autism. Six people currently reside in the home, some who have lived with us for over a decade.
The home has are large communal lounge and a smaller lounge to support everyone to enjoy communal spaces. Residents are encouraged to spend time in these spaces watching TV, listening to music or playing games and engaging with the activities arranged for that day.
The gardens have trampolines, a swing, basketball hoop, bikes and a seating area for picnics & BBQ’s in the summer.
We have one wet room and two bathrooms throughout the home with two additional individual toilets. The kitchen is central to the house and each resident has their own spaces within the kitchen to store their preferred items and snacks.
We support individuals with a wide variety of needs, and focus on developing care and support plans as well as activity plans that focus on their preferences, wants and needs. Involving family and individuals close to our residents in care planning and support is a key part of undertanding who they are and their life experiences that will inform their care.
The people we support also attend local adult learning centres in Hornchurch, Basildon and Brentwood which supports the activities of daily living skills provided within the home environment. At college they learn all about health, yoga and fitness with sports, music, dance and art. We are set in the countryside with fields and a local day centre, however, we are also situated a 5-minute walk from TFL transport links, which our residents use on a regular basis. We promote involvement in the community and residents of Paddocks are supported to access the community to shop for themselves, go on day trips, take a walk around town or any other area they may wish to visit. Each of our residents has their own goal with travelling on public transport and accessing the community, which we support them to reach.
