Sun Woodhouse Care Home

Sun Woodhouse is a wheelchair-accessible home in the Fartown area of Huddersfield. We are a homely and relaxed residential care home. We have 23 bedrooms, 15 of which are ensuite and several accessible bathrooms throughout the home to support individuals with a physical disability. We work closely with our residents, the people who are important to them and our local care teams to ensure the people we support at Sun Woodhouse live well in our homely surroundings. Our staff are experienced in supporting individuals 24 hours a day, safely. We have experience supporting people who live with the early symptoms of Dementia.
At Sun Woodhouse, we understand how important mealtimes are. Our catering team prepares nutritious, home-cooked meals based on residents’ choices, preferences, and dietary requirements. We have a fully enclosed and safe garden which is accessible for everyone and it has a large patio area. We have a hairdresser salon on site and a visiting chiropody service, Internet and Wi-Fi are available at Sun Woodhouse for all to use. There is a call button system and a passenger lift. Our home is suitable for wheelchair users. There is parking on site. We have plenty of local amenities close to us – local shops, pharmacies, supermarkets, and sandwich shops, and we are close to Huddersfield Town Centre and our home is on a local bus route.
Our home benefits from activities based on what is important to the people living with us. We regularly enjoy art clubs, gardening, exercise and movement classes, quizzes and discussion groups, visits, day trips, linking with the local community, bingo, skittles, and bowling. We have excellent relationships with the local church, a number of schools, and a taxi company who will provide wheelchair accessible taxis when requested.
