About Us

The Cedars and Larches Care home is a 60 bedded care facility conveniently located within walking distance from Ilkeston town centre and is well established in the local community. The care home is based over 2 separate and secure buildings ‘The Cedars’ and ‘The Larches’ and both have a distinct atmosphere and character- something we pride ourselves on. We cater for both funded nursing placements and residential placements and accept local authority funded individuals.
With an emphasis on meaningful activities, our in-house activity department complete weekly meetings to discuss what our residents would like to do- we typically have weekly projects and an over-arching monthly theme that everyone can contribute to. Be it a weeklong 60’s festival, an art show, fashion show or good old karaoke, we have something to cater for all tastes which include individual one to one session’s specifically designed for those who cannot or simply do not wish to join in. Our activity team follow the principles of ‘the mind, body and soul’ so each activity contributes to an important part of everyday life, with resident wellbeing being the ultimate focus.
