Barham Care Home offers short or long stay care, respite and rehabilitation services. Our admission arrangements are kept as flexible as possible to ensure we accommodate you in transition as much as possible.

Accommodation and facilities
All bedrooms have been designed for those residents that need nursing care and are light and spacious with some of our rooms being equipped with ensuite shower and toilet facilities. Some rooms are double to accommodate partners. All rooms have an electric adjustamatic bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, TV’s and access to the internet.
All bed linen, curtains and towels are provided by the centre. We do ask that residents supply their own toiletries, if there is no family or friends to buy this for you, then please speak to your named key worker, who will help you with any shopping needs.

Personalisation
We encourage you to bring in personal items – photographs, ornaments, pictures, small items of furniture or anything that will make you feel more comfortable and ‘at home’.
We have memory boxes outside each room and this is where we encourage that you bring in some personal photographs and small piece to decorate these boxes

Calling for assistance
Each room and ensuite bathroom has a call bell system enabling you to call for help day or night from staff at any time. Please feel free to call for assistance, we are here to help.

Communal areas
There are two lounge areas with kitchenettes in the new part of the build where residents and visitors can help themselves to refreshments. The centre has two further main communal areas at the front of the home, where refreshments are also available. The Residents shall have unrestricted use of the residents’ bedroom, lounge, dining room and other communal areas. Under normal circumstances there will be full access to the gardens and grounds of the centre. Via the conservatory there is access to a secure garden for everyone to enjoy.

Communal Garden
The garden is for communal use. We would encourage you to utilise the garden facilities but at the same time be aware of health and safety issues. In the warm months activities will be held outside and you will be encouraged to participate if you wish.

Our nursing and care team will work closely with you to form a respectful bond with both you and your family. We value the involvement of the whole family in ensuring we form a positive relationship between you, your family and staff so we get to know you well and what’s important in your life.

Our aim is to build a personalised care plan with you which is reviewed regularly, we operate a key worker system, where you can have a first point of call to discuss concerns, or for a catch up with a named Nurse and Carer, who can meet with you and your family as often as you would like.
