Overview
The Thorns Retirement Home is located in the picturesque village of Hest bank near Lancaster, within close proximity to Morecambe and Carnforth, we can accommodate up to 15 residents - We currently have a 'Good' rating from the CQC and always aspire to attain an 'outstanding'.
We offer long term care and respite care, which we like to refer to as a short holiday or convalescence, this is usually a minimum of two weeks.
Care and support is delivered by a kind and caring team, 24 hours a day with a senior member of staff on call, also 24 hours a day. We aim to go above and beyond with excellent customer care and treating residents and their family and friends with dignity and respect. We promote independence and choice in a lovely well maintained and homely environment.
We have a garden for you to enjoy and relax in, our guests can access the canal and there are beautiful views from some of the front facing rooms towards Morecambe Bay.
Meals and refreshments are served to you in our comfortable dining room, which is set as you would expect, in a restaurant. However, if you prefer, we can serve meals to your room. We also design menu's with your support and provide snacks and a fruit bowl as standard.
Entertainment is available frequently, there is a mixture of performances and activities to suit everyone as we don't all have the same tastes, family and friends are always welcome.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Thorns Retirement home to have an informal look around and chat to the team.
