About Us
1 Sewardstone Close in Waltham Abbey provides specialist nursing care and rehabilitation services for people living with an acquired brain injury.
The home supports adults aged 18 to 65 years old, who have completed their acute rehabilitation and now require further care and rehabilitation in a non-clinical setting.
1SC is a fun and stimulating environment that promotes independence. The skilled team of clinicians, therapists, and rehabilitation assistants is dedicated to making every day meaningful for their residents by delivering personalised, compassionate care. Whether providing medical care, physiotherapy, or supporting families, everyone works together to enhance the lives of their residents.
There is a holistic activities programme to suit all interests and abilities; from lively exercise classes, to baking, arts and crafts, sensory and pet therapy. Residents are supported to maintain links with the local community, regularly welcoming performers, as well as enjoying excursions to local places of interest. The home also runs a 'Make a Wish' initiative, granting residents' wishes, big and small.
Sewardstone Close is a friendly home that offers spacious en-suite bedrooms, therapy gym and skills kitchen to support rehabilitation goals. Residents can relax in the on-site cinema, or soak up the sun on the rooftop terrace. The home features a large sensory garden with raised planters, that regularly plays host to community events, bbq’s and the residents’ gardening club.
The service is accredited by Headway, the brain injury association, as an ‘approved provider’.
