About Us

Dementia specialist care providing residential and day care services

The caring team at Mount Pleasant support a person centred approach where all care is tailored around the individual’s needs and capabilities.

We offer residential accommodation for up to 14 individuals. We are also able to offer a day care service.

We pride ourselves on the continued high standard of care we provide within our 14 bed care home which is nestled in the market town of Newton abbot. Being at the top of a hill we have beautiful view points across Newton Abbot, Bishopsteignton and Dartmoor.

The building is a homely Victorian property consisting of 12 bedrooms, 2 of which are shared rooms. There is a large decked area to the front and rear of the property; both are easily accessible from the home. We also have a small sensory garden to the rear.

Mount Pleasant is an independent establishment which has been managed by Sian Littlechild over the last few decades. Sian and her team are committed to providing individualised care for those who use the service; the team are trained to be able to adopt different ways of working to receive the best outcome for those whom we provide care for. The caring team at Mount Pleasant go above and beyond to provide an environment which is welcome and homely.

We have an activities co-ordinator in house who provides meaningful activities and events on a regular basis.

We also have regular visits from a wonderful singer who plays guitar. Visits from a local nursery to the home, Animal therapy classes, exercise classes and arts and craft sessions to name a few.
