Philia Lodge Rest Home

Philia Lodge is situated a 10-minute walk away from the centre of Peterborough town. This 18 (eighteen) bedroom residential care home has been refurbished to support the care required by our service users while keeping most of its traditional Victorian style. The home has a number of spacious bedrooms, most with en-suite facilities, two walk-in shower rooms and a bathroom with a large bathtub. Philia Lodge has an exquisite garden area with decking and paved areas, as well as a lovely garden with trees and flowers.

We are very proud of the person-centred approach the homes staff team has, as this ensures all care and support we provide is based around individuals and led by them. At Philia Lodge we pride ourselves at encouraging independence and encouraging active participation in our wide range of activities both internally and with external companies that attend.

Our monthly service user meetings involve several discussions including meal planning and inputting their thoughts and wishes for our freshly made meals offered daily. Our staff are trained to follow all dietary requirements and follow the “eat-well” plate tool to ensure a healthy balanced diet for all.

We actively encourage our service users to assist with the cleaning of the home, with trained staff members, also help in the garden and to indulge in hobbies from their past which we can tailor to meet their current conditions and needs.

We are located a short walk away from the town centre which has a vast array of shops, hairdressers, retaurants and more. We have a number of local parks which include beautiful walks with lots of wildlife.

We have a number of staff members with pets who bring them to spend time with our service users as we find this is imperative to uphold their mental well-being. We are proud of our open door policy for our service users family and friends and encourage regular visits.

We have a very good working relationship with external professionals as we realise the importance of ensuring our service users health and well-being is maintained.

We have a wide variety of taxi companies in the town centre and buses that run regularly to the surrounding areas. We are a short distance from the train station and timetables for all public transport are available online.
