Combe Lea Community Resource Centre

Combe Lea is located within the purpose-built Midsomer Norton Community Resource Centre in Midsomer Norton. The home accommodates 30 individuals over two floors. Fifteen beds on each unit, the first floor known as Gardeners Row and the second floor known as Willow View.
The home provides residential care to adults and a dementia care provision over the two floors. Combe Lea has lifts to all floors.
All single rooms on each care floor have ensuite shower facilities and many have fitted ceiling hoists with tracking from bed to ensuite bathroom facility. There are separate resident lounges and dining areas on each floor. Bedside lockers provide a locked self-medication facility for residents who have been risk assessed to self-manage their medication compliance. A newly fitted Telecare nurse call system has been installed so that residents can call for assistance by use of a body worn or handheld call system.
All bedrooms have wall fitted Telecare call alarms. Additional assisted bathrooms are available on each floor should the residents own ensuite shower facility not be assessed as suitable, or if the resident’s preference is for a bath rather than a shower. There is also an assisted bathroom on the ground floor which is used by the district nursing team for community patients. A hairdressing salon is provided on the ground floor for residents and local independent hairdressers visit regularly to provide this service. The specialist hair washing sink is also used by care staff for residents who are unable to use the commercial hairdressing facility.
Provision is made within the home for a variety of activities which enables close links with the local community to be maintained. Local facilities are within walking distance, with wheelchair accessible pathways from the front door of the care home. On the ground floor of the CRC there is a full day care facility, with dining room facility and main meal provided by the onsite kitchen.
On the same site is Greenacres Court, an Extra Care Housing Scheme property. This service is registered with CQC and managed from Avondown House in Bath.
