About Us

Unique Senior Care - Local Visiting Care and Live-In Care across England

Unique Senior Care's Live-In Care service is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, the highest rating achievable and one held by fewer than 4% of care providers in England. Our Responsive and Well-led domains were specifically rated Outstanding, reflecting a service built around the individual and led with genuine purpose and accountability.

We are a fully managed, family-owned provider - not an introductory agency. This means every client is supported by a dedicated Care Manager, every caregiver is directly employed and trained to an independently assessed standard, and our organisation is legally accountable for the quality of care provided. Families can have complete confidence that the standard of care their loved one receives is actively overseen, not simply arranged and left.

Our Live-In Care service is available nationwide across England, supporting older adults and people living with dementia, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and sensory impairments. A caregiver lives in the client's home, providing round-the-clock companionship, personal care, medication support, meal preparation and domestic assistance, enabling people to remain in familiar surroundings with one-to-one, consistent support.

Caregivers are carefully matched to each client based on skills, personality and values. Our induction programme has been recognised three times with the Princess Royal Training Award, one of only three care organisations nationally to achieve this.

Unique Senior Care has been named a Top 20 Home Care Group by homecare.co.uk for six consecutive years, with a group score of 9.8 from over 250 verified family reviews. Our Solihull Office was also this year (2026) awarded a Top 20 Home Care Award for the West Midlands region.

Additional Information

Accreditations
  • Members of the Homecare Association Unique Senior Care is a proud member of the Homecare Association, the UK's leading membership body for home care providers, representing over 2,000 organisations delivering care to people in their own homes across the country. Membership of the Homecare Association is a mark of professional standing in the home care sector. Member organisations commit to upholding the Association's Code of Practice, which sets clear expectations around the quality, safety and ethics of care delivery, going beyond the baseline requirements of CQC regulation to demonstrate a broader commitment to continuous improvement and sector-wide standards. The Homecare Association plays an important role in shaping home care policy, advocating for sustainable funding, fair pay for care workers, and the kind of conditions that allow providers to deliver genuinely high-quality care rather than simply adequate care. By being part of that community, Unique Senior Care aligns itself with organisations that take the long view, understanding that the future of home care depends on raising standards across the board, not just within individual businesses. For families choosing a care provider, Homecare Association membership offers an additional layer of assurance: that the organisation they are considering is engaged with the wider professional community, held to an agreed code of conduct, and committed to the values that underpin excellent home care.
  • Skills for Care Accreditation Unique Senior Care is accredited by Skills for Care, the strategic workforce development body for adult social care in England, and the organisation responsible for setting the standards by which care sector training and employer practice are measured. Skills for Care accreditation is not awarded automatically or simply by virtue of operating in the sector. It reflects a formal assessment of an organisation's approach to workforce development, recognising providers that invest meaningfully in their people, maintain high standards of training and practice, and create the kind of working environment in which care staff can develop, thrive and deliver excellent care over the long term. In a sector where workforce quality is the single greatest determinant of the care experience, this recognition matters. The caregivers who support Unique Senior Care clients are not simply recruited and deployed - they are developed. From induction through to ongoing learning, our approach to staff development has been independently assessed and found to meet the standards Skills for Care sets for the sector as a whole. For families, Skills for Care accreditation is a meaningful signal that the organisation they are entrusting with a loved one's care takes the development of its people seriously, not as a regulatory requirement, but as a genuine organisational priority. This accreditation sits alongside our three Princess Royal Training Awards, our five-year homecare.co.uk Top 20 recognition, and our CQC ratings as part of a consistent picture: an organisation that invests in quality because it believes quality is what the people it cares for deserve.
Awards
  • Unique Senior Care — Visiting Care and Nationwide Live-In Care CQC Rated Outstanding Registered office: 1584–1586 High Street, Knowle, Solihull, B93 0LF Unique Senior Care's Live-In Care service is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, the highest rating achievable and one awarded to fewer than 4% of care providers in England. The service is registered at our Solihull office and delivers fully managed, round-the-clock live-in care to older adults and people with disabilities across the whole of England. The CQC's inspection, carried out in June 2021 and published in August 2021, awarded Outstanding ratings in two of the five key domains - Responsive and Well-led - with Good ratings across Safe, Effective and Caring. The CQC subsequently reviewed all available data in July 2023 and confirmed the Outstanding rating remains current. Together, these judgements reflect a service that goes beyond meeting expected standards: one that is exceptionally well-organised around individual needs and led with a clear, values-driven purpose. Being rated Responsive at the Outstanding level means the CQC found the service to be exceptionally well-tailored to each person, that care plans genuinely reflect individual preferences, life histories and changing needs, and that the service responds promptly and thoughtfully when circumstances change. Being rated Well-led at Outstanding reflects the quality of leadership, culture and governance that underpins everything the service does, from how caregivers are recruited, trained and supported, to how the organisation listens and learns. Unique Senior Care is a fully managed, CQC-regulated provider - not an introductory agency. This means clients and their families have a dedicated Care Manager overseeing their package of care, caregivers are directly employed and rigorously trained, and the organisation is legally accountable for the quality of every care arrangement it puts in place. The service supports older adults and people with a range of needs including dementia, complex care needs, mental health conditions, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. Live-in care packages are available at short notice and reviewed regularly to ensure they continue to meet each person's needs as they evolve.
  • Unique Senior Care Named a Top 20 Homecare Group - Recognised Five Years Running Unique Senior Care has been named one of the Top 20 Home Care Groups in the UK by homecare.co.uk for five consecutive years, an accolade that reflects not just consistent quality, but a sustained commitment to the people we care for and the families who trust us with their loved ones. The homecare.co.uk Top 20 Awards are among the most credible and meaningful recognition in the home care sector. Unlike industry prizes decided by judging panels or self-nominated entries, the Top 20 award is determined entirely by the people who matter most: clients, their family members, and those with direct experience of the care provided. Every review is independently verified, and rankings are calculated from genuine feedback scores submitted by real families, making this one of the few awards in care that cannot be lobbied for, bought, or influenced by marketing spend. To be recognised once is a significant achievement. To maintain that recognition for five consecutive years, across a sector that is growing rapidly and becoming increasingly competitive, speaks to something deeper - a culture of care that remains consistent regardless of whether anyone is watching. Our current score of 10 out of 10, drawn from over 80 verified reviews, places us among the highest-rated home care providers in the country. Families consistently highlight the warmth and professionalism of our caregivers, the responsiveness of our office teams, and the sense of reassurance that comes from knowing their loved one is genuinely looked after, not just attended to. For those exploring home care or live-in care options, third-party review platforms like homecare.co.uk offer something that no provider brochure can: unfiltered, independent evidence of what it is actually like to receive care from a particular organisation. Our five-year Top 20 status, alongside a 9.8 group score from more than 200 families, provides exactly that reassurance. Unique Senior Care was founded in 2011 by two people who had each navigated the challenge of arranging care for a loved one. That personal experience, and the frustration of not being able to easily identify truly outstanding providers, remains at the heart of everything we do. The homecare.co.uk recognition is gratifying because of what it says about our caregivers: the people who show up every day, in people's homes, and do the work that this award is really given for.
  • Excellence in Training, Recognised by Royalty: The Princess Royal Training Award — 2021, 2024 and 2025 Unique Senior Care has received the Princess Royal Training Award three times, in 2021, 2024 and 2025 - making us one of a very small number of organisations anywhere in the UK to have achieved this distinction on multiple occasions, and one of only three care sector organisations recognised in the most recent round. The Princess Royal Training Award is not an application that organisations fill in and submit hoping for the best. It is a rigorous assessment programme administered by the City & Guilds Foundation and personally endorsed by HRH The Princess Royal, awarded only to organisations that can demonstrate a direct and evidenced link between their investment in training and measurable, meaningful outcomes for the people they serve. In a sector where training is often treated as a compliance exercise, this award recognises something different: organisations that treat learning and development as a genuine driver of quality. Each of our three awards has recognised a distinct aspect of how we approach the development of our caregivers. Our most recent award, received in 2025, was given specifically for the redesign of our five-day, face-to-face Live-In Carer induction programme, a programme built not just to transfer knowledge, but to build confidence, resilience and readiness in the people who will be living with and caring for our clients in their own homes. The induction reflects a simple belief: that a caregiver who arrives at a client's home feeling genuinely prepared, supported and valued will provide fundamentally better care than one who has been processed through a tick-box training schedule. Over five days, new caregivers are given space to practise, to ask questions, and to engage honestly with the realities of the role, including its challenges, before they ever step through a client's door. The feedback from caregivers themselves has been consistent: they describe it as some of the best training they have received in their careers. For families considering live-in care, this matters in a very direct way. The quality of care that a loved one receives is only ever as good as the quality of the person providing it, and the quality of that person's preparation. The Princess Royal Training Award, won three times and across three separate assessments, is independent evidence that Unique Senior Care approaches this responsibility with the seriousness it deserves. In 2025, only 57 organisations across all sectors in the UK received the award. Unique Senior Care was among them, and one of only three from the entirety of the care sector.
