About Us
Bishopton road is one large house split into two 3 bed flats supporting x 3 PWS in each flat we are staffed 24/7 365 days of the year. We have a core team of 18 full time members of staff and 4 relief staff who have all mandatory training as well as service specific training. We recruit staff by using person centred matching tools and the PWS are involved throughout the process. Recruitment is not a regular thing as we manage to retain our staff and some have been here for over 15 years. This service is Residential.
We deal with behaviour that challenges on a regular basis, staff are very well trained to deal with this and manage it well. We also have the challenge of supporting PWS’s changing needs .i.e. dementia, continence management and end of life care. As a service we also support our individuals with other conditions, these are: Autism, LD, Obsessional Behaviour and Depression, Dystonia of the neck, Anxiety, Chronic Catatonia symptoms, Optic Atrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Gastro esophageal Reflux, Extreme Challenging Behaviours, Hypomania Paranoia, Hearing Impairment and Epilepsy. All new staff are trained and given the tools needed to support all service users to a high standard.
