About Us

Walc House is a small residential care service located in the seaside town of Swanage, Dorset, providing accommodation and 24-hour support for adults with learning disabilities and associated support needs. The service offers person-centred care in a homely environment, supporting individuals to maintain independence, develop daily living skills, and access community activities.
Care and support are delivered by trained staff on a 24-hour basis, including overnight support. Walc House supports individuals with a range of needs, which may include communication difficulties, behavioural support needs, and health-related conditions. The service works closely with NHS professionals, including GPs and community health teams, to ensure residents’ health and wellbeing needs are met.
Walc House does not provide nursing care, but supports individuals to access external healthcare services as required. The service is able to support hospital discharge where appropriate and helps prevent unnecessary hospital admissions through ongoing monitoring, risk assessment, and escalation to health professionals when concerns arise.
