About Us

Elm Tree House is an eight (8) bedded residential style home that has been

established since 1990. Here we are based, close to local amenities, road and rail

links and able to access a variety of social and personal services as appropriate. The

home itself is at an end of terrace, 3 story building, each client room benefitting from

individual basin and shower facility. The building DOES NOT have any lifts and uses

stairs to access all floors. Elm Tree house aims to cater for individuals, primarily with

a mental health diagnosis and requiring support / guidance around all aspects of daily

living.

We aim to provide individuals with a safe environment in which to call home, to be

supported with maximising independence, whilst still facilitating appropriate, risk

assessed support for all aspects of access to care, services and treatment. Effective,

person-centered approaches are offered ensuring individuals are treated fairly and

promoted to access services at times of need. This aims to ensure individuals are

treated in a non-discriminatory way and that everyone’s unique qualities and

characteristics are accommodated. We pride ourselves in being able to build a quality

understanding and insight into each client, this allows us to determine and plan

activities and plans alongside individuals, based on their level of insight and capacity.

We aim to continue to learn and improve and by being responsive to needs and

wishes we aim to remain inclusive and support individuals to receive the care and

treatment that best suits them at different stages of their lives. We further aim to

provide a service that is well led, that provides the right numbers of support staff, and

to ensure that staff are trained to the required standard. Staff are equally a valued

part of the caring process at Elm tree, where we endeavor to listen and take action to

promote the wellbeing of both staff and clients, minimising risks and promoting

opportunities.

Our objectives are to provide individualised care and support, based on individuals’

previous experiences and abilities, promoting self-care, that is monitored, regulated

and reviewed as appropriate, in essence supporting individuals to maximise quality of

life, access their community, as well as promote independence in taking care of their

own needs.

We provide key working services and opportunities to gain feedback from our clients,

enabling accurate and timely responses to issues and provide relevant action

planning and risk management strategies to aid wellbeing and safety.

Further objectives are to provide caring, compassionate staff, who will develop an in-

depth understanding of individuals in their care, feeling safe themselves to raise

concerns, where necessary and that leadership will act appropriately, including in

matters of safeguarding and whistleblowing.

A principal objective is to allow individuals to be as in control of their own lives as

capable and where necessary to support them with this. Decisions about individuals

are made with them and the people that matter to them, our objectives to promote

privacy and dignity and a commitment to open and transparent communication

throughout all processes at Elm Tree House.
