About Us

Wood Dene is a home in the Lofthouse area of Wakefield, which can accommodate up to eight people we support. We provide a specialist transition service for young adults with autism, learning disabilities and mental health needs, and can also offer emergency placements at times of crisis.

People are supported by a consistent, experienced and highly trained team in our Autistic Advanced Specialist Award accredited service. All staff complete a high level of varied training including national diplomas, safeguarding vulnerable adults, administration of medication, autism awareness, crisis intervention, understanding behaviour and communication courses.

Within our service we have excellent facilities for the people we support including a sensory development room, an art therapy room and a transitional flat for people who wish to move on to independent living.

Outside there is a garden and patio area for people we support to enjoy.
