Overview
Castlehill Specialist Care Centre is a care home located in Stonall, Walsall and is part of a family run company, Restful Homes Group. The home has been reviewed by CQC in May 2024, and was given a "Good" rating. The owners take an active part in the management of all care homes within the group and have been doing so for over 20 years. The home currently has around 135 staff ranging from care and nursing staff to chefs and domestics.
Castlehill Specialist Care Centre is an 84 bedded, purpose build Dementia and Mental Health care home that cares for residents who suffer from complex dementia and associated behaviours that challenge and complex mental health needs.
Castlehill staff are trained to deliver high quality care to residential and nursing Dementia and Mental Health Care. This includes DMI technique training, Mental Health and Clinical First aid along with other clinical and mandatory training. We are aiming to further develop our staff’s knowledge, this is including the development of End-of-Life care within the home.
The care home has been designed over three floors in a manner so that all three floors have garden space that they can utilise. This has been achieved by creating tiers for each level, allowing all our residents to enjoy the outdoor space.
Each floor has been designed to have numerous lounge areas and activity spaces. This includes each floor having access to their own cinema room that residents can use at their discretion or as part of a larger activity.
Castlehill was designed to have wider corridors and numerous areas where residents can settle to add in the reduction of agitation and aggression associated with the complex needs of our residents.
Residents are encouraged to attend the group activities that are provided by our inhouse activities team. These can range from games like Price is Right and Bingo, to more extravagant events such as the Christmas Wonderland including entertainment and Santa Grotto.
All our meals are cooked on site by our own chefs, who can alter diet based upon the residents need.
