About Us
Welcome to Granada House
Granada House is a small, independently owned residential care home located in the beautiful seaside town of Weston-super-Mare. We can accommodate up to 13 residents and are proud to hold a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
As a smaller home, we are able to provide a true “home from home” environment where residents are treated like family and supported with dignity, kindness, and respect at all times. Alongside long-term residential care, Granada House also offers short stay services including respite care, intermediate care, and rehabilitation support.
We encourage all residents to personalise their bedrooms by bringing in their own furniture, photographs, ornaments, and treasured belongings from home to help make their room feel comfortable, familiar, and truly their own.
Our home is managed by our Registered Manager, Melanie, alongside Deputy Manager Jodi, who oversee the day-to-day running of the service. Working closely with our hands-on Provider, San, the management team has over 20 years of experience within the care sector. San is a regular presence within the home and is well known by residents, relatives, and staff alike, helping to maintain the warm and friendly family atmosphere that makes Granada House so special.
We are proud of our small, dedicated staffing team who build meaningful relationships with residents and support them as individuals. Our team works hard to create a happy, relaxed, and welcoming environment where residents feel safe, valued, and listened to.
All meals at Granada House are freshly prepared and home cooked on site using fresh meats, vegetables, and ingredients. Residents can enjoy traditional home-cooked meals, homemade cakes, and snacks, with menus tailored around individual preferences, dietary needs, and cultural choices.
We provide a wide range of meaningful activities both within the home and in the local community. Regular visiting professionals include a hairdresser and a music activity coordinator who residents thoroughly enjoy. We also provide in-house activities for those who wish to take part, including games, crafts, baking, quizzes, celebrations, gardening, and reminiscence sessions.
At Granada House, we proudly celebrate diversity and support all cultural beliefs, religions, and personal wishes. We are passionate about ensuring every resident feels respected and included. Our regular cultural themed days are enjoyed by both residents and staff, featuring activities, decorations, music, and authentic traditional meals prepared by our wonderfully diverse staff team. Previous celebrations have included Sri Lankan themed days, traditional Thai cuisine, and many more. Families and loved ones are always warmly welcomed and encouraged to join us for activities, events, celebrations, and themed cultural meal days, helping to create special memories together and maintain strong family connections.
We understand how important appointments and maintaining independence are, which is why we also offer an escort service for appointments when family members are unable to attend.
Granada House benefits from being situated in the lovely coastal town of Weston-super-Mare, close to local amenities, parks, cafés, shops, churches, and the famous seafront promenade. Residents are able to enjoy trips out to the beach, local garden centres, cafés, and community events when they wish. The local area offers a peaceful yet vibrant setting, helping residents stay connected to the wider community while enjoying the comfort and security of a caring home environment.
Above all, Granada House is a place where residents can feel comfortable, respected, and truly at home.
