About Us

The Cedars is a warm, friendly, and welcoming care home in Weston-super-Mare, providing high-quality, person-centred support for up to 28 residents. We are dedicated to creating a safe, comfortable, and homely environment where residents are treated with dignity, respect, kindness, and compassion at all times.

We provide personalised care and support for individuals living with dementia, learning disabilities, and mental health needs, promoting independence and encouraging residents to continue living fulfilling and meaningful lives. Every resident is supported according to their individual needs, preferences, routines, and wishes, ensuring truly tailored care.

In addition to long-term residential care, The Cedars also offers flexible short-stay services including respite care, intermediate care, and reablement support. These services are designed to support recovery, provide family carers with a well-earned break, and help individuals regain confidence and independence following illness or hospital admission.

At The Cedars, we pride ourselves on offering a true “home from home” atmosphere. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with their own belongings, photographs, and treasured items to help them feel comfortable, settled, and secure. Families and loved ones are always welcomed and encouraged to be involved in the life of the home, including joining residents for activities, celebrations, themed events, and cultural meal days.

Our residents enjoy freshly prepared, home-cooked meals each day, made using fresh vegetables and quality meats. We understand the importance of good nutrition and hydration, and we cater for individual dietary needs, preferences, cultural requirements, and specialist diets. Snacks and refreshments are readily available throughout the day. All meals are freshly prepared in-house by our multicultural staff team, who take great pride in creating nutritious and enjoyable meals for everyone to enjoy.

We offer a varied and engaging programme of daily activities to promote wellbeing, social interaction, confidence, and enjoyment. Regular in-house activities include visits from our music and exercise facilitator three times a week, helping residents stay active and engaged in a fun and supportive environment. We also have a weekly visiting hairdresser and regular visits from a chiropodist every six weeks, or sooner if required. In addition, residents can access dental and optical services from the comfort and privacy of their own room through visiting professionals arranged by the home.

The Cedars also proudly celebrates a variety of cultural and themed days throughout the year. Each month we hold special cultural celebration days, which in the past have included Sri Lankan Day, St Patrick’s Day celebrations, and other themed events recognising different cultures and traditions. These days are always a wonderful opportunity for residents, staff, families, and friends to come together, socialise, and enjoy meaningful experiences. During these events we provide themed decorations, activities, music, entertainment, and freshly prepared traditional foods, all lovingly made in-house by our multicultural staff team. Families and friends are warmly welcomed and encouraged to join us whenever they are able to.

Our caring and dedicated team are always on hand to offer support and assistance whenever needed — nothing is ever too much trouble. We believe in building strong relationships with our residents and their families, and we are proud of the excellent rapport we maintain throughout the home. We aim to ensure everyone feels listened to, valued, respected, and fully supported.

The Cedars is independently owned by the lovely and supportive provider San who is highly valued by residents and staff alike. San is a regular visitor to the home and takes a very hands-on approach, showing genuine care and commitment to the wellbeing of everyone at The Cedars.

The home is led by our approachable Registered Manager Melanie, alongside a dedicated team who work closely with all, residents, and families to maintain the highest standards of care and support. With an open-door management approach, residents, relatives, and staff are encouraged to share feedback, ask questions, and seek support at any time.

For additional peace of mind, we can also arrange escorts for hospital appointments, medical visits, or external outings where family members are unable to assist (additional charges may apply).

At The Cedars, we are committed to ensuring every resident feels safe, happy, respected, and truly at home.
